10 excursion tips for Saas-Fee 🏔️

While the tourist attractions in the Bernese Oberland, from Lucerne to Zermatt, continue to be overrun by tourists from overseas, things are a little quieter in Saas-Fee this summer. Your HotelCard is therefore enabling you to benefit from outstanding value-for-money deals in the Saas Valley, the valley of the four-thousand-metre peaks.

Here are 10 good reasons for staying in Saas-Fee now more than ever:

1. The cutest Saasers
Who doesn't love them, these adorable marmots that really do fulfil every clichĂŠ of a cuddly animal? Along the marmot trail from Spielboden in Saas-Fee, these little furry fellows are particularly trusting and can even be fed.

2. Mountain cableways and post bus included
All our partner hotels include the SaastalCard from your first overnight stay during summer and autumn. Enjoy complimentary use of the mountain cableways (except Metro Alpin) and the Postbus (not valid for arrival and departure) in the Saas Valley during your stay! You will also receive a discount of up to 30% on numerous activities.

3. Cycling tours in a dreamy mountain scenery
Whether by e-bike or mountain bike: every trail provides plenty of different sights of the majestic mountain giants that surround the Saas Valley. Take the e-bike tour to the Seewjini glacier, for example.

4. Allalinhorn 4'027m
Climbing a 4,000-metre peak has never been so easy: to reach the summit of the Allalinhorn, you "only" have to climb about 600 metres in altitude. The rest is done by cable car. Once at the top, you stand in the midst of Switzerland's highest mountains and enjoy a breathtaking mountain panorama. But beware: it is and remains a four-thousand-metre peak. A tour with a mountain guide is recommended.

5. Revolving Restaurant Mittelallalin at 3'500m
After the ascent of the Allalinhorn or simply as an excursion, the world's highest revolving restaurant beckons with an equally spectacular view. In one hour, the restaurant slowly revolves through 360 degrees.

6. Nostalgic Delight on 10 of September 2023
A bit like Mardi Gras, only much more delicious, spicy and tempting! The Nostalgic Culinary Mile turns back time and presents authentic dishes from the old days. A variety of menus and exquisite Valais wines are waiting to be tasted and enjoyed.

7. Fellbach Waterfall in Saas-Balen
The Fellbach, at 40m high, is the most impressive waterfall in the Saas Valley. It is located in the rural village of Saas-Balen.

8. Gorge Alpine / Alpine Canyon
It is the most spectacular way to get from Saas-Fee to Saas-Grund: A tour through the Gorge Alpine. Escorted by a mountain guide and always secured to a steel rope, you will be led through the deep Fee Gorge, past thundering water and along bizarre rock formations. Ladders, suspension bridges and ropeways ensure a thrilling experience.

9. Culture and Tradition Week, 2 - 10 September 2023
Immerse yourself in the history of the Saas Valley: take a look at the diverse programme of the Culture and Tradition Week, which promises an insight into traditions, tales, festivities and culinary delights as they were "back in the day".

10. Culinary Trail
Foodies beware: The Culinary Trail takes you on an easy hike in the beautiful mountain world of Saas-Fee past four restaurants serving a special snack and a drink.
