  • Monastery room

    The rooms are simply and stylishly furnished. They all have a double bed (160x200 cm) with two different pillows. They combine historic furniture with design classics. All rooms have a wooden parquet floor, a desk, a simple wardrobe and seating. They are around 15m² in size and offer a marvellous view of the monastery garden. The bathroom is allocate to each room and located in the corridor. A bathrobe and a bath bag are available in the room. We recommend bringing slippers.

    ❗Important: In order to complete check-in on the day of arrival, full payment for your stay is required. After you have completed the registration form and paid for your accommodation via your smartphone, you will be granted digital access to the Klosterherberge and your room from 3 pm on the day of arrival. You will also receive this access via the web app.

The Klosterherberge Solothurn is a unique accommodation in the historic guest wing of the monastery "Namen Jesu". With six stylishly renovated rooms and a quiet, monastic atmosphere, it combines tradition and modern hospitality. The digitally managed accommodation leaves room for your own daily routine and is a place of relaxation and inspiration.
Check-in and check-out take place digitally, and guests receive the necessary information by email three days before arrival.

Each room has its own allocated bathroom with shower and toilet in the corridor. A bathrobe is provided in the room. At the Klosterherberge we do not serve breakfast. However, our guests can have breakfast at the Restaurant Baseltor, which is a 10-minute walk away, for an extra charge.
Guests have access to a cosy living room with a large table and sofas. The marvellous monastery garden with seating facilities also offers rest and relaxation.

Good to know for your stay at the Klosterherberge Solothurn.

The Klosterherberge is operated digitally only. There is therefore no reception on site. However, you can reach the staff of the Hotel and Restaurant Baseltor at any time.

The rooms of the hostel are located on the first floor. Please note that there is no lift in the historic building.

There are 8 bicycles of various sizes available on site for guests to use free of charge. These will take you to Solothurn's old town or the River Aare in just a few minutes.

Arrival: We recommend travelling by public transport whenever possible. The monastery is located right next to the Bergstrasse bus stop in Solothurn. Take bus number 4 from Solothurn main station in the direction of Rüttenen. If you are travelling by bike, you can park it in the enclosed shelter. Three car parking spaces are available directly at the monastery, others are in the immediate vicinity.
