Our Zermatt tips:
Enjoyable winter hike: Blauherd-Fluhalp-Blauherd
The winter hiking trail to Fluhalp begins at the Blauherd railway station. Far away from the ski hustle and bustle, with the Matterhorn at your back, you will enter the wintry mountain world with its rugged, rocky peaks in glittering snow. After about 40 minutes you will reach the Fluhalp mountain restaurant. Here, fine rösti with a view of the Matterhorn will tempt you.

Gourmet hike: Sunegga - Findeln- Zermatt
From the family paradise of Sunegga, always with a view of the Matterhorn, you go down to the gourmet paradise of Findeln. The former Maiensäss with its rustic wooden houses has become Zermatt's gourmet hotspot. The cult mountain restaurant Chéz Vrony, awarded 14 GaultMillau points, is known far beyond Zermatt. Here you can enjoy a good glass of wine and local delicacies in a cosy mountain ambience with a sensational view. How about the house speciality, the Vronyburger?
For dessert you can go to the Findlerhof, which also shines with 14 GaultMillau points. The warm chocolate cake is a dream! Afterwards, well satiated, it's always downhill back to Zermatt. The pure hiking time is about 2 1/2 hours.
