As the days get longer, the first flowers come out and trees start to blossom... It's almost spring. We start our journey in western Switzerland at Vevey, followed by Murten in the canton of Fribourg, before heading east to Rapperswil and Weesen.
Vevey on the shores of Lake Geneva
Vineyards as far as the eye can see, an immense expanse of turquoise water with imposing peaks soaring into the sky in the background. You are definitely in the Vaud Riviera. Vevey, a small town in the canton of Vaud, will astound you with the amount of activities it offers. You can start your day by visiting one of the many museums in the region, notably the Alimentarium food museum or Chaplin's World, which depicts the life of the great film director of the same name. You can spend the afternoon strolling through the old town and discovering the banks of Lake Geneva, where you will find plenty of restaurants and shops.

To get a different view of the city, you can walk along the ramparts that have protected Murten for centuries. Enjoy a drink by the lake with a beautiful view.

Exotic animal sounds, turquoise water, a road crossing a lake... all this sounds like somewhere far away... yet you are in Rapperswil, in the canton of St. Gallen. This small town on the shores of Lake Zurich is famous for being the home of the Knie family, owners of the eponymous circus. Start by visiting the old town. Set on a small hill, you will be surprised by the number of towers and spires you will find there. Want to cross the lake? No need to take a boat, you can walk across to the other side of the lake on the long wooden footbridge, from where you can enjoy the beautiful view of the city, the lake and the Alps in the background. In the afternoon, take a trip to the Knie Zoo, which is sure to please young and old alike.
After a great day of sightseeing, you can stay at the Hotel Moxy Rapperswil, featuring a modern and urban atmosphere. There are also many community spaces with original architecture.
Weesen is a small town north of the Walensee. The town enjoys a lot of sunshine and combines a Mediterranean and alpine atmosphere. There are many trails leading to viewpoints offering a spectacular panorama of the Walensee and the surrounding snow-covered peaks. Walk along the lake through forests, vineyards and pastures to Quinten (approx. three hours' walk) and return by boat. You will be amazed by the spectacular cliffs and waterfalls along the way.
